The New York Times Features Big Picture Learning

The New York Times recently featured a great article featuring Big Picture Learning, titled “Giving Kids Some Autonomy Has Surprising Results.” The guest essay focuses on the idea that “… when students are allowed some opportunity to take their own initiative, they are more engaged in class and better able to master new skills, they have better grades and fewer problems with peers — and they are happier, too.”

Big Picture Learning holds this learning strategy at its core, successfully bringing its model to 142 public and charter schools in the US, including Namahana. The article highlights the effectiveness of the BPL model.
